I don’t know whether photography research is any good without a camera to use it on, but I am getting a lot of insight into the field.
I wonder, for example, how a person decided to become a landscape photographer, a portrait photographer, wildlife photographer, etc… Was it that beautiful sunset that started it all, the woodpecker knocking at the tree in your backyard…who knows. I have been looking at several Flickr accounts and see many different areas of interest.
Originally I thought I would be interested in landscapes only, but have found myself drawn to the type of photography that seems to be the study of people, all different kinds of people. These are photos that are taken out in the general public. I would probably be a little shy to just take pictures of anyone, anywhere, anytime…
