feb.24.2010 jet, athletes, & champagne…

Went to work… who cares, the important stuff happened after that. Back at hotel, watched Canadian men beat Russia in hockey… “hey, hey, hey, goodbye…”, then Canadian women win Gold & Silver in two-man bobsled!  That’s three medals at my venue! Went into the Village… had tickets for the Jet concert.  A little rain didn’t…

feb.17.2010 alpine skiing…

Got to go to an Olympic event today… Ladie’s Alpine Skiing.  Lineups were huge but moved fast… trip started with a bus ride down to Whistler village, followed by another bus ride to Whistler Creekside, a long walk down some hill, through fancy chalet style homes where we were presented with two options; walk uphill…

feb.16.2010 snow day…

Woke up this morning to a winter wonderland… lot’s of snow, and plenty of ‘booms’ from the mountain tops… avalanche prevention. Went into Whistler village a little early today to buy an “Edge” pass… a renewable ski pass with your picture on it.  What is it with these stupid picture cards?  I look like crap,…

Not much going on today, going to be a boring post… Was up at 4am today… could hear snowmobiles going up and down the slopes!  I have know idea why… was finally able to get back to sleep just as the alarm went off… great. Once again, took the bus/gondola to work… Today’s event was…

Had a much deserved day off today… Went to ski school today with Paul.  Met our instructor; Mario in Whistler Village.  We started out the day by taking a “magic carpet ride” (kind of like a really long conveyor belt), and finished by skiing down from near the TOP of Whistler mountain!  We paralleled skied…

feb.12.2010 opening ceremonies…

Remember the other day, when I mentioned the “Ultra Secret Event” ?  It was the dress rehearsal for the Opening Ceremony… very cool.  The only thing we didn’t see that night was the lighting of the cauldron… looks like it malfunctioned a little bit.  That’s what makes us Canadian though… The day was overshadowed by…

feb.11.2010 ski school & hot tubs…

Very busy day at work today… really, I mean it!  However, I still had time to watch some men’s luge in the morning and ladie’s luge in the afternoon, during my break of course. Company was generous today!  Gave me a FREE ticket to one of the Olympic events; Woman’s Alpine Skiing… can’t wait, now…

feb.10.2010 skiing accident…

Busy day at work today, putting out fires and creating some of my own. Got a chance to watch some luge today… TV does not do this sport justice, the ‘lugers’ are going extremely fast.  I tried taking some pictures with my Nikon D90 on high-speed and could barely capture the guy! After work; Paul…
