One of my all time favourite quotes is:
“Eat a live frog every morning and nothing worse will happen to you the rest of the day.”
Mark Twain
Every morning when I walk into my office, its the first thing I see on the wall. If my eyes wander a bit, I’ll see the equally important, rubber chicken (squeeze when under any stress). I have many large projects on the go and many difficult decisions to make today. What this quote means to me and many others is that one should tackle the hard stuff first and the rest or your day will go easier. It makes sense and is how I try to prioritize my daily work life.
The saying has become the mantra for many people, there’s a book by Brian Tracy and now an App by the same author.
Further research shows that this quote may not have originated with Mark Twain and that it might not have been said exactly that way. Who knows? What I do know is that the concept is sound.
Enjoy your day and if eating the frog doesn’t work for you, get a rubber chicken.
