Moving Day!
Today we packed up our belongings, beer, and uh, guess that’s it…
Took the Sea to Sky Highway from Vancouver to Whistler, you really have to see this to believe it, I won’t even bother putting words to paper…beautiful. Stopped in Squamish to pickup groceries for our stay in Whistler, had a latte at Starbucks… I think Sausage likes them.
Arrived in Whistler… lot’s of excitement here, the security presence is HUGE! Checked into our hotel, the Blackcomb Suites at Whistler. Once again, we got a really nice room, top floor in West wing. We can see Whistler & Blackcomb mountains, and the Peak 2 Peak Gondola from our balcony. The ski run goes right past our window! Also outside our window is the outdoor heated pool and two hot-tubs… sweet.
When the rest of the boys arrived in town we went on a tour of the mountain sites to deliver spares and familiarize ourselves with the territory, some of the sites had quite a view, access roads were just plain crazy.
Our company has a big hospitality suite at the hotel, tonight they had a Super Bowl party, we got back from our tour just in time to find out who won. Got a piece of cold pizza though… Sat around for awhile, met some of the boys who had been here awhile. Got into some “events”; bobbing for bottles, forearm cap removal and snow fisting. While none of these are actual Olympic events, we believe it’s just a matter of time.
At this point it got a little rowdy and, well let’s just say we called it a night…
