Day #8 – 10 Days to a Better Blog
Today's assignment asks us to set some specific goals using the SMART goals methodology.
Specific – target a specific area for improvement.
Measurable – quantify or at least suggest an indicator of progress.
Assignable – specify who will do it.
Realistic – state what results can realistically be achieved, given available resources.
Time-related – specify when the result(s) can be achieved.
I've decided to take on one goal initially but might augment it later on. I want to post more, it's too much fun not to. Below are my SMART metrics for 2015.
Specific: I've set a goal to post at least twice a week, no excuses.
Measurable: using WordPress stats page.
Assignable: that's me!
Realistic: I was really poor at posting in 2014, this is a significant challenge but not to onerous given the many different ways there are to post.
Time-Related: the results will be measured by yours truly on a weekly basis. At the end of the year there will be at minimum 104 posts!
I would have liked to spend a little more time on this assignment but I'm on a train between Toronto and Ottawa and I can see the bar cart coming! This entire post, including the picture, was done on my iPad. A bit of a challenge.
Goals look good to me! Even when publishing from an iPad. Keep it up! I don’t know why I hadn’t stumbled across SMART sooner. It helps plan things out a lot easier!
