I thought I’d heard it all…
Earlier today, a colleague and I were debating whether we could wear shorts to work. Since we were attending a customer’s premises, we agreed it might not be a good idea. We decided to hold off until the end of the day.
The end of the day arrived, we headed back to our hotel when my good friend… let’s call him Paul, broke the news that he was going to throw on a pair of shorts and Crocs. He went on to say how he always wears socks with his Crocs. My first thought was how strange, right up there with socks and sandals.
We went back and forth, up and down and even sideways on the topic…
I was driving, we were heading downtown Ottawa to the Byward Market and I refused to be seen with someone in Crocs and Socks. Paul relented, threw on some shoes and off we went.
That was several days ago and it all came back, like a bad dream, while I was sitting watching TV. I had my feet up on the coffee table, wearing Crocs and Socks.
I won’t dare tell Paul.
This was a really great read! Personally, I’ve never owned a pair of Crocs. I tend to wear flip-flops more than anything else, but I do wear sandals sometimes. The kind of sandal that is open toed and opened in the back and with them, I wear socks. 🙂 Don’t worry, I won’t tell your friend “Paul.” Additionally, I wanted to ask; “Were you a fan of the movie Paul?” As I am curious because the name you chose to give your friend.
Thanks for the comments Zimm!
“Paul” is actually his real name 🙂
Oh, haha.. I assumed that since you said “let’s call him Paul,” that Paul wasn’t his real name. My apologies for assuming. 😛
It’s a habit I have… done a few posts mentioning friend’s first names. It’s kind of a joke now 🙂
Ah yes, I only use names for certain people, other wise I use titles. One person is programmed into my phone as the “Wicked Witch…” If you guess who that person can be, you are a God. LOL
