If you’re a Groupon groupie, looking for some good deals, you probably get several emails a day. Some, you delete off-hand, others tickle your ‘curious’ bone causing you to open the email and dig a little deeper.
With all the emails flying around for Black Friday, Cyber Monday, Christmas and assorted other sales, I’d had enough.
Today’s email from Groupon advertising deals on tattoo removal, an upscale four-course Italian meal, archery dodgeball, yoga and a bunch of other stuff I’ll never need or use was enough for me.
I unsubscribed…
And that’s when the fun really started!
I clicked on the link, now pretty standard on these types of email, to unsubscribe, opening a web page saying how sorry they are to see me go. Blah, blah, blah…
A little further down on the page, the option to punish the person who sent the most recent Groupon presented itself. Having nothing better to do, I decided to punish Derrick.
The video showed someone walking up to Derrick, presumably his boss, yelling a little at him, dousing him with water and finally throwing the cup at him.
I laughed out loud… for real!
Maybe I’ll re-subscribe…
